About the Club

The Lansdowne Club was formed out of the old Luton and South Beds. Liberal Club which was based in Manchester Street. In 1957 it was decided to close the old club and form a new non political club and the present premises were purchased for that purpose.

The club is a private Members Club and is run by the Honorary Officals and a Management Committee of 10 elected by the members. In addition there are three Trustees. We employ a full time Club Steward and a full time Chef together with bar and catering staff.

Our purpose is to provide a comfortable, safe and friendly environment in which our members can enjoy the many varied social activities provided. These cover a wide range of interests from merely socialising over a drink or meal to live music, and the arrangement of excursions and holidays.

Our music events include from Big Band Swing, Jazz and Opera. Both local musicians and internationally acclaimed artistes have appeared at The Lansdowne Club.
We have a well earned reputation for excellent food. Lunches are served every weekday also our frequent Friday Supper Nights and Saturday Bistro evenings are very popular. We hope to expand the catering options in the club in the near future.

We can boast probably the best snooker and billiards facilities in the town with 4 tournament standard tables. There is usually no problem finding tables available at any time during the day or evening.

We have ample parking facilities for 60 cars with the added benefit of being only a short walk from the centre of town.
